Reflection 6: Speaker Session

Microsoft Office 365 Tools
Hello everyone! It's week 7 already. *Time flies*

Alright, the lecture this week was conducted by Ms. Fairuz, who is a Microsoft representative. She taught us a lot information by using Microsoft Office 365 tools which include Mail, Sway, OneDrive, Yammer and more.

Microsoft Office 365 tools has numerous applications as shown in the picture above. Ms. Fairuz was only manageable to cover some of them due to the limit of time. Firstly, she gave a talk and simple briefing about Microsoft Word, Powerpoint and Excel. She taught us on how to create and sharing files among our teachers and friends. I found it easier if we do it in this way for our group assignment as not all the students have the same lecture time. In other word, students might be panic and worry when they heard 'group coursework' as many of us found out that it is hard to coordinate with every group members' time. After the briefing Ms. Fairuz given, I found out that it is easier and convenient by sharing files and editing the documents in this way.

Furthermore, Ms. Fairuz did mentioned about saving and sharing our files online by using SharePoint or OneDrive rather than in our tablets, laptops or USB which makes our life handy. Other than this, Ms. Fairuz introduced something interesting of OneNote! It is basically similar as a notebook but it has a wonderful feature which can actually read out the context you have loudly and clearly. Plus, you can adjust the speed of the reading as well. Amazing right? 😎 This features has its advantage on students whom is facing Dyslexia or colour blindness issue. Besides, Ms. Fairuz taught us something new which some of us might have not heard and even used of it before. For instance, Forms, Yammer and Sway. Forms are use to create forms or survey in order to collect data and to analyse data for your own purposes. On the other hand, Yammer is something similar as Facebook. It acts as an enterprise social network which allows people to like, follow, join groups and share content. In the end, she also taught us about Sway which is more or less to Powerpoint but much more easier and interactive to use.

Summing up, I found this lesson really amzing and interesting. I had learned more about Microsoft Office 365 Tools. I learned something new than Microsoft Word, Powerpoint and Excel. I found these new applications very useful for my academic learning purposes. I would love to introduce and teach my friends or even students about all these applications in the future as it is really helpful and it brings a lot of convenience to our work.
