Reflection 3: Software & Apps
Software and Apps
Hi! Ms. Nabila briefed us about the do's and dont's of doing our E-portfolio before beginning with today's topic. There are 7 software and apps we learned in class today.
Noisli:
Firstly, Noisli is website which helps in boosting the productivity and increase the focus of the learners. It is an ideal app providing with the background noise and colour generator in order to help learners to focus while doing their work, relaxing, and releasing stress. Learners can mix sounds to create their own optimum learning environment.

Formative
Flipped Classroom
It is about teachers giving information through videos, and discussing about the particular topic in the classroom. In this situation, the structure is changed, unlike the normal way of learning. We usually discuss about the topic first then only get to watch videos in the class. However, there are some drawbacks as well. There might be less interaction, motivation and instructor could be boring in the video explaining about the topic by watching videos online. Below is a link talking more about the pros and cons of flipped classroom. To sum up, if I would be a lecturer in the future, I would not use this teaching style as it somehow does not suits every learner the best.
10 Pros and Cons of a Flipped Classroom
Write about
Next, we discussed another webpage which is Write About. It gives the students the opportunity to to write digitally. It enables students to be creative in their writing as well as sharing their writing by using this platform. In addition, 'Write About' is something similar to a blog.
Write About
Versal:
Versal is a webpage for daily learning. It helps in increasing the creativity of users. It also provides special discounts for education institutions. In this situation, it is more or less similar as 'Write About'.
Versal
To sum up all of the above, I would apply and use them for my learning in the future. I would personally prefer to use Noisli as it can helps me to focus on my studies and relaxing. Besides, I would love to try out using Formative in the class if I am becoming a teacher next time. This is because I am a learner who prefer an immediate feedback after attempting questions and exercises. However, as a future educator, I will use the software and apps which suit the most to my students as different software and apps have different function.

Formative
Secondly which is the formative. This is a 'gamification' model for students who need to accomplish their task and work online. In this website, students can get their feedback instantly.
Above is a picture which shows how formative works. It may be started creating an assignment by lecturers then assigning them to the students. After students finished their work, they will receive live results and lastly they will get their feedback from the lecturer immediately.
